Mariano Fortuny (1838-1874)
Il contino (The Count) 1861 (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Barcelona)

I was quite taken by the Mariano Fortuny portrait I reblogged previously—particularly that glorious colourfulness—and so went off Googling him, whereupon I came across this wonderful Baroque beauty. It also has the same brilliant use of colour, very vivid, and a strange atmosphere to it.
